Meet the Heartland CBMC Leadership Team

John Reimer—Area Director, Heartland CBMC

John Reimer, Heartland CBMC Area Director | Christian Business Men’s Connection in Omaha, Nebraska and western Iowa.

John Reimer was raised in Kitchener, Ontario Canada by parents who immigrated to Canada from Europe.  Through hard work and determination his father started and successfully ran his own business to provide for his family.  Upon graduation from high school John left Canada to attend college in Kansas and Nebraska where he received a B.A. degree.

In 1969 John was hired by Omaha Youth for Christ where he successfully directed and expanded the ministry by forging a new division involving youth referred from three county court jurisdictions which became a nationwide model for Youth for Christ.  In 1972 John became the Executive Director for Omaha Youth for Christ and continued to expand the ministry to reach a large segment of teens throughout the greater Omaha area.  

In 1982 - 1995 John joined the ranks of the business world where he was hired as a Project Manager and later promoted to become the Human Resources Manager for a plastics manufacturing company that included plants in 12 different states.

In 1995 - 1999 John managed a startup business in telecommunications.  The company prospered and in 1999 was offered a buyout to a large telecommunications company in Atlanta, Georgia.

In 1999 John joined the staff of CBMC (Christian Business Men’s Connection) USA.  He is currently Metro Director of CBMC serving in the Greater Omaha area.

On August 20, 1966 John married Linda Basinger of Pandora, Ohio.  The couple currently reside in Omaha, Nebraska.  They have four grown children and nine grandchildren.

Dan Hazuka—Leadership Institute, Area Director, Heartland CBMC

Dan Hazuka, Heartland CBMC Peer Advisory Group Director, Greater Omaha and Western Iowa. Christian Business Men’s Connection.

Dan is the Leadership Institute-Peer Advisory Group Director for CBMC Heartland of Nebraska since 2001. He was in Business for over 35 years before the Lord called him into the Leadership Institute-Peer Advisory Group ministry full time in 2001. Before coming into the Leadership Institute-Peer Advisory Group ministry he was in the Manufacturing and Distribution of Food Products and Coffee products in the State of Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. He came to Christ when he was 37 years old and turned not only his life to the Lord but the business over as well. He has traveled not only nationally but internationally with the Leadership Institute-Peer Advisory Group ministry to help grow the ministry in different parts of the United States, Mexico, Venezuela, Guatemala and Ecuador. In addition, he has done a workshop on Leadership Institute-Peer Advisory Group at the CBMC International Conference in Seoul, Korea.

Dan has served on Grace Bible College Advisory Board, Good News Jail & Prison Ministry, Gambling with the Good Life, CBMC Heartland as well as other civic and ministry groups.

His passion is sharing the love and hope of Jesus Christ to the Business & Professional community and to help them grow closer to the Lord. He also has a passion to see the Leadership Institute-Peer Advisory Group ministry grow worldwide because the help it provided for him when he was in business. He personally knows the value and benefits it has for the business community. Dan has 3 children and 12 grandchildren. He is a member of Calvary Omaha Church in Omaha, Nebraska.

Ken Korkow—Field Staff, Heartland CBMC

Ken Korkow

Ken Korkow was raised in Blunt, SD by Erv and LaFola Korkow, well-known producers of professional rodeos.

Ken served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966-1968, serving in Vietnam in 1968. He was wounded in combat and received the Navy Cross, the nation's second highest award for combat valor. The Governor of South Dakota named a special day in his honor - as South Dakota's most highly decorated Viet Nam veteran.

Ken received a B.S. in Agri-Economics from South Dakota State University in 1970 and graduated from University of South Dakota in 1972 with a Masters of Business Administration.

From 1972-1974, Ken worked with S.D. Industrial Development and Expansion Agency in Pierre, SD From 1974-1978, he developed a real estate company focused on farm and ranch sales, and then went on to do site selection and development work for national companies.

In April 1984, Ken joined the staff of Christian Business Men's Committee USA. He is currently Regional Director of CBMC Heartland, serving Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota.

On August 10, 1968, Ken married Liz Alm of Wahoo, NE. The couple currently resides in Omaha, Nebraska. They have three children.

He is a former member of Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association; former president, Central South Dakota Board of Realtors; and former president, North and South Dakota Farm and Land Institute.

Wilson Metz – Field Staff Associate

Wilson Metz – Field Staff Associate

Wilson came on board the CBMC Heartland team in 2005.  He brings with him connections with national ministries to men like Promise Keepers, Iron Sharpens Iron, Man in the Mirror, Men at the Cross, and other ministries focused on men.

Using these tools, Wilson has been training and encouraging churches to have an effective Ministry to Men.

Wilson serves in the Heartland Office with technical support and regional communications. 

 

 

Dirk Block – National CBMC Board member, Local Team member, Judge, Workers’ Compensation Court

Dirk Block

Dirk Block is a Judge on the Nebraska Worker’s Compensation Court. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Creighton University School of Law.

Dirk has served CBMC Heartland on its Board of Directors since 1990 and also currently serves on the national Board of Directors for CBMC, Inc.

In addition, Dirk has served as the Master of Ceremonies for the Greater Omaha Leadership Prayer Breakfast since 2002.
