About the Speaker
Tom Osborne is best known as the former head Football coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Osborne was the head coach 1973 to 1997.  He retired after the 1997 season with the highest winning percentage among active coaches.

From January 2001 to 2007, Dr. Tom Osborne represented Nebraska’s 3rd Congressional District in the House of Representatives.

In a strong move aimed to bring a new leadership style to the athletic department, University of Nebraska Chancellor Harvey Perlman drew rave reviews from the Husker faithful across the country when in December 2007 Osborne accepted the responsibility as full-time athletic director through June 2010.

Osborne also co-founded with his wife, Nancy, the TeamMates mentoring program, which provides support and encouragement to school-aged youth with the goal of seeing children graduate from high school and pursue a post-secondary education.
